Duration of the programme

The new Degree in Tourism has a syllabus of 240 ECTS distributed in 60 ECTS per academic year, considering the 4 years of duration of the programme.

The creation of the new European Framwork of Higher Education (EFHE), resulting from the 1999 Bologna Declaration, demands a number of improvements in the educational systems of the European Union that allow citiziens to benefit from a good education and their posterior integration in a communitarian labour market that is both unified and borderless. The most oustanding objectives are:
  • To adopt a system of easy recognition and validation of degrees among countries.
  • To promote European cooperation so as to ensure qualitative standards in higher education.
  • To enhance the mobility of students and faculty among European universities.
As an institution adjoined to the University of Girona, Euroaula incorporates the implantation of new learning systems based on the acquisition of a series of professional competences, understood as integrated units of knowledge, skills and attitudes that will guarantee students’ professional success. SYSTEM OF EUROPEAN CREDITS: ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).

This new conception of European credit as a unit of academic assessment and European recognition integrates the simultaneous acquisition of knowledge, professional skills and attitudinal competences.

Within this new learning approach and continuous assessment throughout the year, the credits of each subject measure the amount of work done by students based on:

· theoretical and practical training
· guided activities
· experience of professional traineeship
· tutor-led practice
· dedication to studies and research
